Chinese MFA says they are not afraid of US sanctions amid situation in South China Sea
The Chinese authorities are not afraid of unilateral sanctions that Washington may impose on Beijing over an increasing dispute between the two states on the South China Sea issue, China MFA spokesperson Hua Chunying noted.
The American side should reconsider its position with regard to China, the spokesperson noted.
According to the diplomat, the US continues to demonstrate empty hegemonic ways, while they should make constructive efforts to ensure peace in the South China Sea.
It is necessary to interact on a mutually beneficial basis, everyone wants it, Hua Chunying said.
