Japan to provide more than $652mn to develop 6G wireless mobile communication system

The Japanese government plans to provide 70 billion yens (almost US$652.4 million) in aid to corporations involved in the development of the 6G wireless mobile communication system, which is planned to be introduced by 2030, Kyodo news agency reported, citing government sources.

Earlier, an expert council was set up under the government to develop a comprehensive strategy for the introduction of the new format.

Japan is currently switching to the 5G, but has lagged behind the United States and South Korea in this regard, where the use of 5G began earlier.

The Japanese government now wants to make up for lost time and become a leader in switching to a faster and more secure 6G system.
